Team News | Forfar boss, Ray Stewart, expects to select from a full squad again for the Bells Cup tie against Albion Rovers. Stewart told Loons Mad, "I won't know for sure until the players arrive at Station Park but there weren't any serious knocks after Saturday. Paul Lunan came off with a dead leg but should shake it off. The big problem on Saturday was the heat and there were a few players knackered when it came to the last substitution but I thought it better to put the fresh legs on at the back. That's why I pulled David Lowing off." There were certainly a few jealous glances in the direction of the dugout when the moment came. Stewart was pleased with the result and with the effort of his side. "It was touch and go for a while. They were pushing four and five players up and I thought the players showed real strength in keeping them out. And the point is we scored when it mattered. As long as we keep scoring everybody stays happy." The full squad gives Stewart something of a headache. On Saturday the likes of Vella and Byers didn't even make the substitute's bench. "Well that's a hard call but I can only put five on the bench." |
Other News | Forfar have a chance to make history tomorrow, and get into the 3rd round of the newly named Bell's Cup for the first time.
Despite their 3rd Division status, Albion Rovers will also be confident of getting into the next round. The 'Wee Rovers' narrowly missed out on promotion last season and have already disposed of 2nd Division East Fife in this competition.
Veterans, Mark Yardley and Kevin McAllister, are likely to pose a lot of Albion's goal threat. Young striker Ian Diack is another name to look out for.
The match will be refereed by Craig Thomson. |
